Victoria has come and gone and life goes on. Ben continues as Deputy Liaison Officer at the Canadian Consulate and helping Ray with his cases. Phil leads a small but prosperous company. Through a hostage situation Phil meets Ben's friend, Sgt. Cathy Madden. They form a strong friendship and "Cat" decides it's time Ben and Phil face their feelings for each other. Enlisting the help of others, Cat does her best to bring her friends back together with no luck. Yet, they are haunted by the memories of a past love.

A sudden illness leaves a group stranded with no leader as Fate steps in and takes a hand in bringing Ben and Phil back together. Phil rushes to replace the ailing leader not knowing that Ben is a member of the group. An unavoidable meeting after so many years, can the flames Ben and Phil once knew be reignited or have too much time and too many things happened to prevent that?
